“Y&R Shocking Statement: Is Alan Hiding Something – Hero or Villain in Disguise?”
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) has emerged as a key player in Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) storyline. Ashley and her family members have repeatedly insisted that they trust Alan, so that’s led some fans to wonder if they’re perhaps giving that trust too freely!
There’s definitely been some speculation on social media about Alan being a villain in disguise.
You could argue that Alan seems a little too good to be true since he’s dropped everything to play the hero and offer up his knowledge as a former psychologist.
Some viewers have gone as far as wondering if Alan himself is the source of Ashley’s trauma.
Could Alan be hiding something about their time together in Paris – and is he trying to lure Ashley back there for nefarious reasons now?
Although that’s a possibility, it doesn’t make much sense with the story the show’s told.
Alan has behaved in a strictly professional manner and honestly hasn’t done anything that we’d consider a red flag.
Plus, Ashley’s alters were created as a way to shield her from what happened.
Based on the way “Ms. Abbott” and “Belle” talk to Ashley in the May 27 episode, they seem to know exactly what Ashley will find if she goes poking around her Paris memories.
If Alan were the real problem, “Ms. Abbott” would surely be plotting to eliminate him instead of treating him like an annoyance and throwing all her attention on Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John).
“Belle” has also been throwing herself at Alan in hopes of kicking off a romance, which she wouldn’t be doing if Alan tried to assault Ashley or did anything else to torment her.
On the contrary, “Belle” has considered Alan a great way forward for Ashley rather than a heavy burden from her past.
Of course, it’s possible some rewrite is underway that’ll go against all that, but so far it seems like someone or something other than Alan is the true source of Ashley’s trauma instead.
