Young & Restless Game-Changer: Lily’s Jaw-Dropping Decision Could Change Everything
Young & Restless’ Lily has been on something of a rollercoaster ride in life since she got called away to help her daughter through a crisis — and it’s only about to get crazier. Get ready for Neil’s offspring to make a tough decision… that just might change everything!
Lily was blindsided when her ex-husband and boyfriend, Daniel, not only cheated on her while she was away in California, but announced upon her return that he had reconciled with his ex, Heather. Hurt and fuming, Lily gave them both the boot from Chancellor-Winters, refusing to listen to warnings that there might be legal percussions. The next thing we knew, Daniel told Lily he was filing a lawsuit.
After taking a vote to the board, Lily has elected to move forward with fighting the lawsuit despite the optics. So, might the tough decision she makes this week involve backing the truck up and settling the lawsuit? It could. This would be ‘tough’ for Neil’s daughter on a personal level, but perhaps a sound move for the company. That said, if the writers aren’t going to bother following through, what was the point of Daniel bringing a lawsuit in the first place?
But the lawsuit hasn’t been Lily’s only challenge at Chancellor-Winters recently.
Lily butted heads with her brother Devon, who pulled a surprise move and tried to install wayward cousin Nate back on the Board of Directors, when she cast the deciding vote that saw his initiative fail. Devon told his girlfriend and fellow board member, Abby, that he suspected his sister harbored some animosity toward him because he knew about Daniel and Heather but didn’t tell her.
Lily’s also tangled with ex-boyfriend and Chancellor-Winters executive, Billy, who is trying to convince her to team up with him to make a move to run the powerhouse in tandem. This would really be a huge move against Devon, who has been reluctant to give up any control to others since the merger of Hamilton-Winters and Chancellor Industries. If Lily were to hitch her wagon to Billy’s in an attempt to oust Devon from power in the company he started with their late father it would be shocking. Almost too shocking for current day Young & Restless, which is why we think it won’t happen.
More likely, Lily’s tough decision will have to do with Aunt Mamie, who returned to town with an ax to grind against former rival, Jill, who just happens to be the head of Chancellor. Mamie swanned in with a secretive agenda that turned out to be ousting Jill from the company so the Winters family could take over.
But rather than get on board, Lily has bristled against Mamie’s divisive tactics and even suggested she may not be able to trust her when they last met.
We know from the Young & Restless preview that Mamie’s about to do a takeover of Lily’s office — with yet another secretive agenda in mind. Mamie, who holds a minor investment in the company, will call a meeting, but refuse to explain to Lily what it’s all about until the others arrive. She merely teases, “It will be worth it.”
Given the climate between Lily and Mamie at their last get-together we’re gonna guess this won’t go over well with Lily — and chances are Mamie’s latest agenda won’t either. We’re not sure how, but we’re confident this is where the “tough decision” is going to come in.
Whatever Mamie proposes, Lily’s clearly going to be put into a difficult position, and what she does next could totally upset the apple cart!
Will Mamie’s moxy push Lily to side with Billy against her own family? Will Lily make a move to push her aunt out as an investor? We’re not actually sure she can do that… but trying would certainly open up a huge can of worms with the Winters gang!
