General Hospital: Lane Davies Returns to General Hospital in a New Role!

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Lane Davies is headed back to Port Charles, but he’ll be playing a new character this time around. Longtime GH fans may recall that Davies previously portrayed Dr. Cameron Lewis from 2002-2004, but now he’s returning in the brand-new role of Fergus Byrne.

TV Insider confirmed the news, which comes after Fergus got a mention in some GH dialogue last month.

In the April 1 episode, Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) offered updates on some of her research, which revealed that Neil Byrne (Joe Flanigan) had another brother named Fergus.

The interesting part is that Fergus had to recuse himself from the committee overseeing Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) disbarment decision.

Fergus was replaced by his own law partner, so Diane saw some red flags that could help Alexis with her appeal and hopefully get her law license back.

Now that we know Davies is set to appear as Fergus, we can look forward to the attorney’s debut and his upcoming scenes with Alexis.

Our predictions point to some tension when Alexis and Fergus first encounter each other.

Neil ended up deceased in Alexis’ bed due to an overdose Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) caused – and then Brendon Byrne (Joshua Coxx) faced a grim fate after tangling with Harmony as well.

Fergus seems to be the last surviving Byrne brother and may be holding some grudges over the past, including some involving Alexis.

Santa Barbara fans may recall that Lane Davies played Mason Capwell back in the 1980s and was paired up with Nancy Lee Grahn’s Julia Wainwright.

Mason and Julia were quite the supercouple once upon a time, so it’ll be fun to see Davies and Grahn’s on-screen reunion.

In addition to Davies’ previous time on GH and his lengthy stint on Santa Barbara, you might also recognize him from his roles on Days of Our Lives and The Bay.

Davies even filled in for Ronn Moss temporarily on The Bold and the Beautiful in 1992, so this definitely isn’t his first soap rodeo!

Of course, Davies has done his fair share of primetime work too, so you might’ve seen him on Supernatural, Government Lies, Good Luck Charlie and plenty of other shows over the years.

General Hospital spoilers say Lane Davies will make his first appearance as Fergus Byrne during the week of May 20-24, so stay tuned.
