GH New: Ava Confides in Nikolas about Sonny — and Kristina Learns the Truth About Her Father
Kristina is out power walking and takes a breather when the baby begins to kick. Dex sees her and asks if she’s okay. She says that depends on him. He asks if he can take her to GH. She says no, the baby is just kicking up a storm. Kristina comes out and asks Dex if what Joss told her about her father is true. Did he ask him to kill Cyrus? He says they shouldn’t talk about this, but it’s true.
Kristina feels so stupid and naive. She also feels bad that her dad put Dex in that position. Dex admits it surprised him too. She asks if Sonny seemed different at the end of Dex’s time working for him. He admits he did, he was acting paranoid, and really changed after the shooting in Puerto Rico. She knows that’s when Ava moved in. Suddenly, Joss appears and asks if Kristina is okay.
Kristina assures Joss she’s fine, and she asked Dex if what she said was true, and it turns out she was right. Joss is sorry she told her the way she did. Kristina departs, and Dex decides to go too. Joss stops him, and says she’s sorry about telling Kristina his business, but she thought it may help keep him safe from Sonny if she knew the truth. She asks about the academy, but he hasn’t heard from them. She’s sure he’ll get in. He hopes so, as he has a lot to make up for. Joss admits she’s not a perfect angel, and she’s messed up too, so she should be judging anyone, including him. She then walks off.
At Aurora, Drew thanks Willow for stopping by to see him. She lets him know that Amelia survived her first swim lesson. Michael arrives and asks what this mystery meeting is about. Drew explains he just had a meeting with a non-profit that wants them to do their PR, and they need a spokesperson, and he thought of Willow.
Willow notes she has no experience being a spokesperson or with on-profits. He says she does, in this case, this a non-profit that deals with umbilical cord blood gathering and bone marrow transfers to fight leukemia. He thinks Willow has a chance to help make a huge impact. Willow is honored but says she needs to think about this. She does want to help others get the gift of life that she did. Suddenly, Nina barges in, telling Drew that they have a problem. She sees Willow and smiles.
Nina says she’s sorry and didn’t know Willow was here. Willow says it’s okay and thanks Drew for thinking of her. She and Michael leave, and Nina notes that Willow barely says a word to her. However, she believes she smiled a little, and maybe she should text her. Drew suggests she give Willow space. He asks what her problem is. Nina complains to Drew that Carly is giving her trouble doing maintenance in her own office. He laughs and wonders where she got that idea from.
Nina reminds him they are on the same side against Jason and Carly, who screwed them both, so what is the payback plan. He won’t be going after payback. Nina notes that he seemed to like getting payback against her. He says she sent him to prison, but they didn’t. Nina points out that if he hadn’t gone to jail, he likely would have married Carly, and that would have made Jason’s return even worse. He asks, “Do you want me to thank you for sparing me a divorce?” She says what she wants requires no talking and pulls him into a kiss. He locks his office door, and Drew and Nina rip one another’s clothes off and fall onto Drew’s desk.
John arrives at the Metro Court to meet the new owner, assuming it’s Jason. Carly tells him if he wants to speak to the owner, “You found her!” She explains she’s a co-owner really. He is happy for her but asks what happened. Did Jason buy the hotel and sell it to her? She explains he gave it to her. John says she doesn’t strike him as someone who would accept a gift like that, she strikes him as someone who values her independence.
Carly says she does, and others offered to help her get back her half of the hotel. She wouldn’t take Nina’s offer, or Sonny’s, and she didn’t want to put Michael under scrutiny by the SEC. She was going to work to get it back on her terms. He again asks why she accepted Jason’s charity. She says Jason felt she never would have lost the hotel if he was still here, and she can see he’s been through a lot, and this was one problem he could fix. She says she wouldn’t accept it from anyone but Jason. John tells her to enjoy her hotel. She says she will and gets back to work.
Michael and Willow head to The Metro Court and congratulate Carly on getting the hotel back. They then sit at the bar and discuss Drew’s offer. He tells her if she takes the job, make sure it’s what she wants. She decides to think on it.
Anna meets Jason at the warehouse. She needs to debrief him if they are going to shut down Pikeman. She believes Valentin is involved and explains how Jack Brennan, herself, and Valentin all came up in the WSB together. She is certain Brennan stole the money from an old op to seed Pikeman, and Valentin claims to have done contract work for the company in the nineties, which is why he was asked to approach Sonny with a deal. She reveals that when she probed Brennan about Valentin, he claimed they were never tight, but she knows they were thick as thieves, and Valentin is hiding something. However, sometimes she thinks she’s being overly paranoid, and her judgment is compromised regarding Valentin.
Anna fills Jason in on shooting Valentin’s daughter Charlotte and how she’ll never get the memory out of her head. Jason is sorry and knows that it had to be tough to live through, and he is glad that Charlotte is okay. Anna says this is why it’s hard for her; she looks at Valentin as a father first and a person of interest second, and she fears that’s putting this investigation at risk. She knows he’s good at rational thinking, and maybe he can get a read on Valentin. Jason says she may not trust her judgment, but he does. She also has a lead, and Dex confirmed that Sonny took a shipment for Pikeman in the past. Jason says he’ll speak to Dex and help her with Valentin.
Suddenly, John arrives and is not surprised to find Jason with Anna. He says the investigation into Pikeman has stalled, and he wants to know why. He warns Jason to find a way to get him what he wants, or Carly will lose the hotel again and be brought up on RICO charges. John suggests he reach out to his contacts and find out when Pikeman is moving shipments again. Jason walks off, and John justifies doing what it takes to get results to Anna. Anna says maybe but thinks he doesn’t like himself when he treats Jason like that. He only is concerned with getting things done.
Valentin is at Pentonville and signs the log book that he’s there to see Nikolas. Brennan tells him to follow him. They go to an office, and Valentin is impressed that he’s able to move around Pentonvile without guards. Brennan asks how Sonny’s doing. Valentin says he’s isolated from his friends and family and only trusts Ava. Brennan points out they have a bigger problem than Sonny, and that’s Jason, who knows too much about Pikeman. Valentin says Jason, as Alan Jacobs, checked out when they vetted him, and someone capable of manipulating government records went to a lot of trouble to put Jason there. Brennan wonders why Jason would take this job, and what would make him disappear on Sonny. Brennan suspects he was coerced by an organization with three letters, just which three letters is the question.
Jack knows it’s not the WSB, tas hey want to keep it running as they have for decades. Now that they know an intelligence firm is after them, they have to adjust. Valentin says this will have to be their last face-to-face, so there isn’t a paper trail linking them. They discuss the Jason problem and plan to eliminate him and frame Sonny. Jack warns Valentin to be careful, as Anna is closing in on them, and she knows them both and knows their history. If she puts all the pieces together, she’ll figure it all out. Valentin says Anna came to talk to him about Pikeman and Jack’s involvement, and he stonewalled her. He is sure Anna won’t be a problem. Jack says he likes Anna, he always has, but if she causes problems they both know what the WSB will do to her. He warns Valentin if he cares about Anna, stay away from her.
In the visiting area, Nikolas is surprised to see Ava has come to see him. She says she wanted to see him before he was transferred. They ask how one another is. Nikolas says he’s got a lot of time on his hands, and Ava says she’s doing well. Nikolas heard she’s living with Sonny, and asks what’s going on there. She explains it started as a safety precaution after a break-in at Wyndemere. Nikolas asks what it is now? Ava says her relationship with Sonny has evolved, and it’s actually the best it’s ever been. He asks if she’s in love with Sonny? She says, “No, why, are you jealous?” He answers, “Always.” She says her feelings could change, but right now, she’s happy that they are on the same side, and Avery is loving it. As for her, she’s relived not to constantly be bracing for a custody battle with Sonny.
Nikolas suspects she likes being in Sonny’s inner sanctum, and she admits she does. He brings up Nina, and she says she never understood who Sonny was, so their marriage was doomed to fail. However, she loves that Carly is getting a taste of her own medicine, Carly’s the ousted traitor and she’s the trusted confident. She says Sonny makes her feel powerful, but she’s helping him, too. She reveals Sonny is on a quarter dose of his meds, and she’s trying to find out who did it, but in the meantime, she’s watching out for him. Nikolas can’t believe she hasn’t told Sonny. He asks why not but then thinks she’s enjoying playing house with an undermedicated Sonny. He warns her if Sonny finds out she knew about his meds all the time, well she’ll be in trouble and is playing with real fire. Ava puts her hand on his and says she knows what she’s doing. She then heads out.
On the next General Hospital: Dex is questioned by Jason, and Drew asks a favor of Nina.
